The Tonsley is a one-off handcrafted ‘black-iron style’ gate that draws upon elements of our standard ‘Vintage’ design. Featuring the same 6-bar layout, ornamental scrolls, and replica ‘hand riveted’ rod ends, a vertical flat bar has been incorporated into each of the two cross braces. Another vertical bar sits centrally in the gate and displays a classic ’emu egg’ Authentic Gates badge of true craftsmanship.
Measuring 3.6m, and with a reversible swing, this is a versatile option for any 3.7m entrance, giving the appearance of double gates with the practicality of a single.
Hand-welded from premium solid Australian steel, this gate is built for decades of service. It is naturally weather-resistant for 40+ years, and comes pre-finished in black zinc-rich epoxy undercoat, allowing a natural patina to develop over time. If preferred, it may be top-coated with enamel, just as the original historic gates were finished.
Intentionally engineered for strength, expertly welded for longevity, and lovingly crafted for heritage-inspired style, it is supported by a comprehensive 10-year structural warranty.
