Typically made to order within 4-6 weeks, our timber gates are fully engineered and expertly handmade in our Sydney workshop by skilled gatemakers with decades of expertise. Crafted from properly seasoned, chemical-free Class 1 and 2 premium Australian hardwoods, every wooden gate is fully bolted – sometimes using screws but never nails – and arrives ready to hang, pre-fitted with heavy-duty galvanised hardware and our unique Bolt-Action Latch™.
Available as singles or pairs and in a variety of heritage wooden farm gate designs to suit the driveway or entrance of any Australian property, our handcrafted timber gates arrive in their natural sawn finish, ready for oiling, staining or painting. Alternatively, they may be left to weather to a silvery-grey patina – either way, the comprehensive 10-year warranty stands.

When sourcing materials, we select only the best.
Our standard range of timber gates are expertly crafted from properly seasoned, chemical-free Class 1 and 2 Australian hardwoods. Sustainably harvested from responsibly managed licensed forests, they are hand-selected for both their durability and natural beauty. We do not use ‘reject grade’ timbers or any inferior imported woods. There may be surface characteristics like colour variation, gum veins and fine surface checking, all of which are hallmarks of genuine Australian hardwood, not faults.
Each gate arrives in its natural sawn finish, ready for oiling, staining or painting if you want to keep its fresh timber colour. Left untreated, it will weather to a silvery-grey patina — a natural, desired effect that does not affect structural integrity or warranty.
Firstly, measure the distance between your posts and then allow for hinge and swing clearance. Each gate needs to be 100mm narrower than the available opening to allow for hardware to be fitted and the gate to swing freely.
- Single gate width = the shortest measurement between your posts minus 100mm
- Double gate width = the shortest measurement between your posts minus 200mm

Our made-to-order timber gates start from $1,340 for a single gate and $3,196 for a pair, with the final price depending on the design and size you choose. Prices are shown on each product page. If you need a gate sooner, our floorstock range is available at fixed prices for immediate despatch.
As all handcrafted timber Authentic Gates are made to order, they are typically despatched 4-6 weeks from receipt of payment. For interstate or regional orders, please allow an extra 2-3 days transport time.

All timber gates arrive complete and ready to hang – fully assembled and pre-fitted with our unique Bolt-Action latch hardware, hinge kits and gudgeons.
Most gates only require a two-person lift, and installation is straightforward as every gate arrives ready to hang with hinges and latch hardware pre-fitted. As such, they are DIY-friendly.
However, if you need assistance, any reputable fencing contractor can help – if you need recommendations, we may be able to refer you to contractors in your area following purchase.
